Who we are

This website is operated by V1OLET SECURITY LTD, trading as V1olet Security ("we", "us"), registered in England and Wales under company number 17544627, with its registered office at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

You can contact us about privacy at hello@v1olet.xyz.

No tracking, no cookies

This website sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services, and loads no scripts, fonts or other resources from third parties. Everything on the page is served from our own servers.

If you use the light or dark theme switch, your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and is not sent to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Information we collect

When you use the contact form

We collect what you enter: your name, organisation, email address, optional phone number, the size of your organisation, the topic of your enquiry and your message. The form is sent to our team by email. The website itself does not store your submission in a database.

To protect the form from abuse, our server keeps your IP address in memory for a one-hour rate-limit window. Expired entries are removed automatically within one minute, even if you do not visit again. These rate-limit records are never written to disk.

When you email us

We receive whatever you include in your email, along with your email address.

Server logs

Like any website, our web server records technical information about requests, such as the date and time, the page requested and the response status, to keep the service running and secure. Our reverse proxy may record IP addresses for security purposes. These logs are kept for up to 7 days and then deleted.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • Replying to your enquiry and, if you ask, preparing a proposal. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Keeping the website secure, including preventing spam and abuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in protecting our systems.

We do not use your information for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell it.

Who we share it with

Contact-form enquiries are passed securely from our server to a specialist form-delivery provider, which processes the submitted details to deliver them to our team's email inbox and maintain a submission archive. This service may process data in the United States. Your browser does not connect directly to the provider, and we do not forward your IP address or browser headers to it.

Our mailbox provider also processes emails we receive. Our website is hosted on servers we operate in the United States. We use these providers to operate the website and handle enquiries; we do not sell your information.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries in our team's mailbox for two weeks, unless they lead to a working relationship, in which case they become part of our client records.

The form-delivery provider also keeps a separate submission archive, with up to 30 days of history on our current plan. The two-week mailbox retention period does not automatically delete that archive.

Client data

This policy covers visitors to this website and people who contact us. When we process personal data on behalf of a client as part of an engagement, we act as their processor under Article 28 of the UK GDPR, under a written data processing agreement with that client.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability where it applies. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@v1olet.xyz.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
